Support my journey through kidney failure by contributing a donation
Current Financial Needs
-
✽
I have covered my medical bills for 2024, but because I no longer have a donor, my transplant most likely won't occur until 2025, meaning I have double the amount of bills.

I have recently been having some dental issues which required me to get a wisdom tooth removed this past month. It is unsafe for me to get multiple out at once so I will need to get them taken out one at a time and pay for each one separately.

Due to my medical conditions, I am currently unable to work. I have always been in charge of paying my school tuition that is not covered by financial aid and scholarships, but now I have no way to earn money to do so.

I drink a dialysis drink called Nepro on a daily basis to ensure that I have the proper amount of nutrients in my body. Additionally, I am currently attending dialysis three times a week and need to pay for transportation.

I am currently living at college in an apartment that requires me to go up two flights of stairs. After the transplant I am unable to go up stairs for a few weeks and will need alternate housing.

Due to kidney failure, I have a very specific diet which requires me to be off my school's meal plan and pay for all my meals which can be very expensive especially because of the types of food I am required to eat.
What Have I Spent the Go-Fund-Me Money on so Far?
-
So far, I have spent two weeks in the hospital which consisted of numerous tests, a biopsy, and a chest port placed. I have also been attending dialysis since May which requires 12 hours of medical treatments a week. With all this, I am still paying bills on a frequent basis.

A requirement of the transplant process is that I have clean and isolated housing at all times so I am always ready for a transplant to happen. This past summer, I had to supply my own housing in Boston to stay close to my doctors and meet my transplant readiness requirements. Boston housing is very expensive, but it is crucial for me to stay nearby my doctors as I see them 3+ times a week.

Starting dialysis has completely changed my life. I now have a semi-permanent tube in my chest (lasts up to a year) that is very tricky to maintain. I have to purchase special one time use gear for every time I shower as well as other water free bathing supplies. Additionally, I have to spend at least $100 a month on dialysis drinks that ensure my body has proper nutrients because dialysis removed many nutrients from my body in the process of cleaning my blood.

Transportation has been an unexpected expense for me through this experience. Dialysis is only required in extreme cases of kidney failure, so I was hopeful I wouldn't need it, but that was not the case. Because of this, I have had to pay for transportation three times a week for dialysis which adds up very fast. Additionally, I have attended many appointments since my diagnosis, and each one requires me to pay a parking garage fee up to $60, and again, that can add up super fast.
